Les c\u00e2bles de pr\u00e9contrainte ext\u00e9rieure sont compos\u00e9s de torons de fils en acier, mis en \u0153uvre dans une gaine PEHD et inject\u00e9s d\u2019un coulis de ciment jusque dans les ann\u00e9es 2000.<\/p>\n<p>La surveillance des c\u00e2bles est de premi\u00e8re importance pour les gestionnaires d\u2019ouvrages, et des recherches sont en cours pour mettre au point de nouvelles techniques d\u2019auscultation s\u2019int\u00e9grant aux programmes de maintenance pr\u00e9ventive. C\u2019est notamment le but de la th\u00e8se de Jonas Aparicio, dans le cadre de la chaire Sanef-Abertis.<\/p>\n<p>Pour cela, plusieurs c\u00e2bles de 46 m\u00e8tres de longueur entre appuis ont \u00e9t\u00e9 test\u00e9s sur le site de l\u2019UGE Nantes et amen\u00e9s jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la rupture par d\u00e9coupe progressive des fils composant les torons.
